Loading Unloading Operator

JOB SUMMARY

Loading & Unloading Operator is responsible for the execution of operational activity to load/unload fuel and or LPG road trucks, conduct a series of physical activities and checks to facilitate safe connection of the terminal loading/unloading infrastructure to the truck for the purpose of executing safe truck loading/unloading operation of liquid petroleum fuel or LPG.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION / Main Tasks & Duties

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Loading & Unloading Operator is responsible for conducting the following tasks:

  • Operate product loading arms pumps and electronic interface for effective loading of trucks.
  • Take manual measurements of loaded volumes, draws samples, drains, and performs various checks as needed.
  • Check and monitors on-going processes and running equipment within his area of responsibility to ensure that operating variables (temperatures, pressures, product level, flow rates, etc.) are within the allowable limits.
  • Inspect, lubricate, and perform condition monitoring and minor maintenance of operational equipment. Replaces small fittings such as valves, pressure gauges and similar appurtenances which are in poor condition.
  • Upkeep and maintains the general housekeeping of his area of responsibility.
  • Perform daily inspections of all the equipment, pipelines, instrumentation, and valves within the allotted work area at the loading/unloading bays.
  • Ensure that the trucks entering the loading/unloading bays are suitable and have met the inspection criteria stipulated in the JOTC truck inspection sheet.
  • Ensure that the driver provides the proper authorization through the loading/unloading documentation that covers the customer request to load the truck and the JOTC system generated loading clearance.
  • Ensure the seal numbers recorded and match the physical seals on the truck
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment including but not limited to, proper storage of tools, hoses, cleanliness of work area, proper wear of all personal protective equipment, immediately containing and reporting any spills or unsafe conditions.
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses with immediate attention to the Supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional atmosphere for all drivers entering the loading/unloading bay area.
  • Ensure compliance to the shift handover policy and procedure
  • Respond to any emergency by shutting of the truck loading/unloading operation and follow the instructions of the Supervisor.
  • Report all non-conforming trucks the Supervisor.
  • Must ensure that the correct Personal Protect Equipment is always used when executing operational activities.
  • Respond to requests to work in other areas other than the loading bay area.
  • Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned.
  • Follow up on all matters relating to work to achieve the best performance possible.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum Diploma Certificate.
  • Minimum of 0-2 year of experience preferably in oil & gas industry or similar industry (refining, or terminal experience is preferred).
  • Very good communication skills (written and verbal) = as well as negotiation skills
