Planning Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing activity plans for projects & operations and monitoring plans on an ongoing basis to ensure activity schedules and project plans are being adhered to.

JOB DESCRIPTION / Main Tasks & Duties

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Planning Engineer is responsible for conducting the following tasks:

Preventive maintenance planning and recording for Mechanical, Electrical & instrumentation departments.
Follow up with maintenance staff to start/complete preventive maintenance activities.
Follow up with the purchase team to request any maintenance related to orders.
Record daily activities, Maintenance orders, trouble memos, MOM’s & WCR’s.
Prepare monthly maintenance reports.
Prepare MEMO’s related to the maintenance department and follow up with procurement team.
Prepare final technical and financial report for maintenance orders.
Inspect/Receive spare parts, tools, equipment, and consumables from supplier and keep it in store
Control st Support electrical maintenance team if required.
Collect data necessary to compile long and short-term activity plans.
Identify /highlight planning clashes or interfaces and work with the team to resolve issues.
Ensure plans are updated/issued on a regular basis.
Analyzing and summarizing activities and produces reports on progress.
Report any breaches of safety procedures to management.
Follow up on all matters relating to work to achieve the best performance possible.
Follow up on all matters related to his job to achieve the best performance.
Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or any equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in oil & gas industry or similar industry (refining, or terminal experience is preferred).
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) as well as negotiation skills.
Excellent computer skills– MSOffice, Office 365, understands the functionality of an ERP system
