A Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining of mechanical equipment and machinery. The primary focus is on safety, reliability, quality and sustainability.

Of paramount importance is the responsibility to ensure that all activities comply with relevant company and industry technical and safety standards.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION / Main Tasks & Duties

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for conducting the following tasks:

  • Execute daily & Mechanical activities such as troubleshooting, maintenance, and checking equipment’s reliability.
  • Supervise & coordinate the work activities of assigned personnel in carrying out the Preventive, Corrective, General & Inspection related mechanical maintenance and asset integrity activities of static & rotating equipment & associated piping/related accessories in the terminal.
  • Issuing the warranty claims related to mechanical department after a proper study of the problems.
  • Follow up with ILF/OMJ to close project punch items.
  • Manage tools, Consumables & spare parts related to mechanical department.
  • Coordinate with Planning Engineer to update mechanical maintenance summery, purchase requests & issuing store materials.
  • Supervise contractors performing mechanical jobs in the terminal to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and electrical procedures.
  • Ensure application of work is done in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
  • Study outsourcing maintenance /inspection contracts & schedule the visits as per the plan.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and effective manner and that all interventions are controlled by authorized persons, satisfy statutory and Company standards and that no hazardous incidents or events occur.
  • Prepare mechanical department-related reports.
  • Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned.
  • Follow up on all matters relating to work to achieve the best performance possible.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanic Engineering (advanced certificate is plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience preferably in oil & gas industry or similar industry (refining, or terminal experience is preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent computer skills– MSOffice, Office 365, understands the functionality of an ERP system
